There have been lots of low-star reviews complaining that this adapter doesn't work. The problem is not the adapter - what's happening is that the "booby-trap" that SodaStream builds into their bottles' valves to thwart users refilling their bottles on their own is succeeding. All you have to do to defeat that booby-trap is to fill your bottle slowly. Here's how: Connect the tank and the SodaStream bottle as per the instructions, but then, leave both levers in the "off" position, and screw down the pin switch all the way (this opens the SodaStream bottle's valve). Then, instead of turning the gas on full blast (which will activate the booby-trap), turn it on just a little bit. You'll hear the CO2 flowing into your SodaStream bottle and feel the tank and the adapter get cold - that means your SodaStream bottle is filling, with the gas gently flowing right by the booby-trap into your SodaStream bottle. When you hear the gas stop flowing, increase the gas flow just a tiny bit more, and if the tank isn't yet full, gas will flow in again. Repeat until you hear no more gas flowing. It takes 30 seconds to a minute to fill a 60 liter bottle. In my experience it only gets about 110g of CO2 into a 60l bottle, so you'll have to fill up & replace the bottle about four times as often, but you do end up saving about 80%, and with a typical five pound CO2 tank <~$15 to fill), you get the equivalent of about 5 60l SodaStream bottles.
